I actually bought it myself, intending to give it to someone else for Christmas. It came in a lovely box, but when I took it out and saw that it had 'Motivation' written on the pretty white glass that held the candle, I thought better of it, as I didn't want to potentially insult the recipient by suggesting that they needed any sort of motivation. (If you know what I mean!)
Instead, I decided that OH could give it to me for Christmas and I'm glad I did, as I've enjoyed burning it for the past month or so and it's still going strong. It's a clary sage and tea tree soy candle and has a nice subtle smell, so isn't too overpowering. I could quite get into burning candles, although not the expensive kind, might I add.
My next favourite this month has most definitely been a new US TV series on Netflix called Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. It's a comedy series about a woman, who after 15 years of being held/living in an underground bunker as part of a doomsday cult, is set free and let loose on NYC. Just as we were coming to the end of March, I discovered this feel good show, whilst flicking through Netflix when there was absolutely nothing on the TV and after just two half hour episodes I was hooked. Best thing is, it's suitable for Little Bird to watch too, and she also likes it. We've almost completed watching the whole first season already. The official trailer is available to watch on You Tube, if anyone is interested. I'm afraid that for some reason I am unable to link it at the present moment. Another technological issue I'm suffering from at the moment.
Another favourite this month that I bought as a little treat when I did the weekly shop the other day, is this Movie Mix bag of Poppets. I loved that this was a mixed pack containing orange, dairy fudge, milk chocolate shortcake and juicy raisin. My only complaint is that they left out my all time favourite flavoured Poppets, the toffee ones. Why leave out such a classic, especially as the toffee ones last longer than the other flavours?
My favourite purchase in March has been this pair of leather touch screen gloves, that I bought myself from ASOS this month. I wanted a pair of gloves I could keep on whilst using my phone and decided to buy these. I realise that we're almost through the season when gloves are necessary, but I bought them for my capsule wardrobe with next winter in mind. They weren't the cheapest leather gloves at £20, but I really like them and I especially like the cuffed detail which gives them a modern twist. They fit perfectly and work well. A very practical addition that also look great.
My final favourite this month was a film that we watched this month called Dallas Buyers Club, starring Matthew MacConnaghy. (The one for which he lost lots of weight to play an AIDS patient). This film was really good (despite a few slightly graphic scenes of a rude nature - not a film to watch en famille unless your kids are grown up). A great story though and I believe based on real life events.
That's all for this month. I'll be posting some more favourites next month.
Love your new gloves! Poppets sound great - unfortunately we don't have them in Australia (yet). I can certainly understand why you kept the candle....I too would have been worried that the recipient would have thought that I was being patronising ...and looks like a great candle!
ReplyDeleteHi, Belinda, do you ever order from ASOS? They ship to Australia free of charge if you spend a certain amount. I'm thinking of using them to send gifts to my sister and nephews in Brisbane, as it would work out much cheaper than sending things by the mail service here. (Providing they liked the items of course!)
DeleteI haven't ever ordered from ASOS, but seems like a great way to get some awesome gifts to your rellies, with the free shipping!
