One Week One Pattern 2014 - Day Four/Five

For Day Four of this challenge, I have styled an outfit involving a skirt I made in a heavy denim like fabric with shiny red stars printed all over it.  I bought several meters of this fabric from a stall at a local market down the road, for approximately £7.  I liked it, but wasn't entirely sure what to make with it.  This is the first and only thing I've made with it so far and this is the first time I've styled it or even worn it, as it was too heavy to wear over the summer.

It isn't really an easy skirt to style, as it is a little unusual to say the least, but after a bit of swapping and changing I decided to pair it a short sleeved black t-shirt, black lycra tights and black leather knee high boots.  It's a bit of a fun look really and I probably will look bit hilarious in it, but I really don't mind.

On Day Five of the challenge, I decided to re-style the African print skirt that was the subject of Day Three of the challenge, as an evening outfit this time, as I think the fabric lends itself to this.  I teamed it with a new soft but heavy black jersey top (bought from M&S in the July sales for £17), a silver necklace (bought from H&M in the sales for £3), black lycra tights and black suede ankle boots.  A slightly pared back, less fussy look than the daywear option.

For the final couple of days of the challenge, I have pushed the boat out and made a couple of new skirts from this pattern.  More in my next post.
